Around 200 people gathered at Heckscher State Park for a 5K in memory of James DiGiovanna, who died of pancreatic cancer in January 2024.

DiGiovanna's son tells News 12 that their goal is a world without pancreatic cancer.

The family partnered with Project Purple, which raises funds for early detection and research.
