4 from Connecticut arrested in Long Island jewelry scam

Nassau Police say four people have been arrested in a jewelry scam, with victims scattered across Nassau County.

Four people from Connecticut have been arrested in connection with jewelry thefts on Long Island, police said.

Authorities said Cosmina Caldaruru, Laura Calin, Alexendru Dumitru and Constantin Dumitru, all of Bridgeport, are facing grand larceny charges for the thefts in Nassau County.

In each case, authorities said jewelry was removed from victims ranging in age from 18 to 94.
