A 19-year-old from Greenwich is facing a reckless driving charge after authorities say he was caught going more than three times the speed limit on Lake Avenue.

Police say Guy Landers was driving 96 mph in a 30 mph zone when he passed a parked officer.

He slowed down after spotting the patrol car but was later stopped on Old Mill Road.

In Connecticut, any speed over 85 mph qualifies as reckless driving.
