Thursday's blue and gold cookie sales from Baked by Emily Rose in Massapequa will go to the family of Connor Kasin. Owner Emily Reynolds says she plans on baking hundreds of cookies.

"It's heartbreaking, but I know the community will come together we come together in good times and bad would do the best that we can to be there for the family and friends all the high school students and everybody in the community," said Reynolds.

Another way to honor the 17-year-old is leaving hockey sticks out in front of homes and businesses. Those doing so have been sharing their photos using the hashtag "sticks out for Connor."

If you see blue or gold bows in Massapequa, they are in honor of Connor. A local florist is also giving out bows to the community.

"They come in, we make the bow, the bow is for free, we're asking for a donation, whatever they can give. a dollar, two dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, whatever it is. And we're going to donate that money on his behalf to a charity of their choosing," said Vincent Gilmore, owner of Bayview Florist & Montage.

Gilmore says he bought about 1,000 yards of blue and gold ribbon for the community.

"A portion of the proceeds for all of the funeral flowers will be donated as well," said Gilmore.

Connor's wake will be Wednesday night and Thursday at Massapequa Funeral home.

His funeral is Friday morning at Saint William the Abbot Church in Seaford.
