Police: 83-year-old pedestrian seriously injured in West Hempstead crash
Police say the woman tried to cross Nassau Boulevard on Hempstead Turnpike just before 3:30 p.m. and was hit by a Dodge Ram attempting to make a left turn.

An 83-year-old woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon by a crash in West Hempstead.
Police say the woman tried to cross Nassau Boulevard on Hempstead Turnpike just before 3:30 p.m. and was hit by a Dodge Ram attempting to make a left turn.
The driver remained at the scene, according to authorities.
Police say the woman was hospitalized in serious condition. An investigation is also ongoing.
