Police: Man fatally struck by SUV in Port Jefferson Station

Police say a man died after he was hit by a car Friday night in Port Jefferson Station.
Officers say the victim was crossing Route 112 eastbound, south of Rose Avenue, around 10:15 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV, which then fled.
The pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle, which stayed on the scene.
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police.
