Two wolf-dog hybrids have been seized from a home in Hempstead.
The resident says they bought the canines in West Virginia.
However, it's illegal to own wolf-dog hybrids in New York State.
Officers took the canines to a licensed facility where they are performing a DNA test to find the percentage of wolf in the animals
The owner was ticketed for possessing wild animals without a permit.
