Two towns on the East End have just passed plastic bag bans.
The East Hampton Town Board approved the ban on single-use plastic shopping bags Thursday night. Just hours before, the Town of Southampton approved the ban.
The new restrictions go into effect on Earth Day 2015, which is April 22.
Five other East End villages, plus Patchogue, are now looking at bans.
