In Nassau County. That is fun for the entire family. This was old school. It's different from when we were kids. Q and QX have games. Laser tag. So much more. Shannon Lanier takes us there for this week's road trip. Close to home. Hello, looking for a year round family fun activity. Check out Qzrqx in Carl Place, New York, the main attraction. Laser tag. Got it. Hey Mr Miguel, how do we play first? We're gonna watch a safety video and then we're gonna split up into two teams. Can we do kids' wrists? Yeah, absolutely. The kids will be in the green team and the parents will be in the red team. So you have about 30 minutes to run around in our uh 5000 square foot arena and you're gonna be tagging each others to get as many points as you can. Are you guys ready your hair? Wait, wait, got you. That's so cool. My gosh. That was so cool. Yeah, we definitely want to be the kids won. Luckily, laser tag isn't the only game here. Tua also has arcade games with an unlimited playing if mom and dad needed more grown up activity. They can go ax throwing if all that gaining and winning makes you hungry. Peabody Museum is now open. The museum is home to over 14 million objects that tell the story of our earth in this week's road trip, close to home news, 12 photojournalist, Laurie Goliath takes us to New Haven to explore over 5 billion years of natural history. We want people to come in and see things that they've never seen before and ask questions. We are at the Y LP Body Museum in New Haven. There's about 2500 objects on display and that's more than we've ever had. We have about 14 million objects in our collection. We are doing a lot of work to bring all of these objects and specimens back to life. One of the big features that stayed throughout the renovation is this gorgeous mural behind me. It was painted by Rudolf Salinger in the forties. And so it was a big, big task to preserve this mural during construction and installation of exhibits. And we are so excited to show this mural in a new light. Even the brontosaurus that's been here since the 1920 s. It went up to Canada during COVID and had a spa treatment. It's come back you know, remounted and looking better than ever. I think it really puts into perspective how old the earth is and how small we are and just like how everything connects and is cyclical. The Yale Peabody Museum was created in uh the 18 hundreds as part of a plan to add sciences to what was then Yale College. The museum was like a start up inside the university. Science was a, a kind of a new phenomenon at that point. But the museum continues on in a role to uh have collections that provide evidence for the history of the earth and what it means. The museum is telling a new story now and that I think is a very important aspect of our reopening. We are trying to tell the story. Yes, of all the specimens and all the objects that we have. Uh But also we are telling stories of community. Our museum has always been one that covers the breadth of the sciences and also um culture, if we're doing our job, right? Uh we're gonna provoke people to think it's been really cool to be able to learn from other people who are also in the museum. Like if you're willing to just turn and talk to somebody, I hope they'll visit because they're curious, I think people should come because there's so much that the museum has to offer. We want everybody to enjoy The Peabody. But thinking about the younger generations, there's things that little kids would love and there's things that big kids would love, it's going to be brand new to them. And so we really, really want to bring these younger generations to take it all in, enjoy the history of our earth and know that they also can make a change in their lives and in their lifetime on this earth.

One cow is putting Chesterfield on the map in this week's road trip. Close to home news twelve's Amanda Lee visited nowhere farm to visit him. And this week's road trip close to home. We're in Chesterfield with Moo. I hope you're in the mood for some cuddles. We're in Burlington County Chesterfield, New Jersey. We bought Nowhere Farm about 10 years ago and it was because I grew up on a farm and our kids were young and I really wanted them to have the experiences that I had with animals and with being outside and the level of responsibility and um maturity that farming gives to Children. And then of course, this is Moo, he's a Jersey steer. Moo will be seven years old on May 9th. We've had him here since he was born. He was born out behind the garage. His mom was our family milk cow and he wants to come out and get some attention. There we go. What a good boy. So Moo is like the famous attraction here. Everybody comes to see Moo. Right. It's all about moo. I don't know of anybody else that does cuddling in the tri state area. It's kind of a novelty for moo. He has the added benefit of being highly trained. Moo does cuddles, he does parades, he does birthday parties. He lays down on command. What a good boy. And he doesn't mind like kids will play with his ears and feel them. I feel like he's like a huge cat. I guess. It's about a year and a half ago. I was out riding him at a local park. I do trail riding with Moo and a gentleman saw us and he came running across the field to take a video of us. And when I showed that video to my daughter, she wanted me to put it on tiktok. So I did. Um and it just went viral. People ask me all the time, what breed is your dog? I think it's necessary for the human soul to be outdoors and to see nature. So what we can offer outside of just coming and cuddling with Moo is a space for a small party. We have a fire pit and a swing and just a place to relax. I want people to come here and step away from normal life. The things that are going on in the world that just weigh us down and I don't want that to be here. Well, you can sharpen your hand eye co ordination. And this week's road trip, close to home news, twelve's Nikita Ramos shows us where we can learn archery in Putnam County. Knock pull and release the instinctual draw of a bow and arrow is the thread woven through centuries of archery, Westchester Archery. And Carmel is a place to practice and brace the basics no matter your age or experience like Jack who's been coming here for about a year. Now, I actually got it after that. I was like, oh my God, this is so much fun. I want to continue. If you continue trying, then you'll get good at it and lessons at this family own business. Run about an hour to help you learn the lay of the land. Today is the first day I have ever touched a bow but after a few minutes and a few tries with these instructors, they helped me nail these shots. Yeah, it's exciting to learn to shoot beyond what you may have thought you were capable of. I'm gonna show you how to hold a bow, how to aim a bow, how to draw a bow, how to release the anatomy of the bow after you're comfortable. I just let you shoot a little bit and see how you do this indoor range, stretches up to 20 yards where you can rent a recurve bow and aim for that bull's eye. My anchor point is right here and right here on the corner of my nose, Kayla is only 14 with just a few years of experience, a competitor nationally and internationally. Well, a home designed by the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright is in our very own backyard. And this week's road trip close to home news, 12 Nikita Ramos is taking us out on the water in May for a visit here. Welcome to the Massaro House, a masterpiece of famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. And it's sitting on 11 acres right here on Petra Island and it's Smack dab in the middle of Lake May. Frank Lloyd Wright designed this in 1949 and in 2008, it finally came to life. Thanks to Joe Massaro, the current owner of Petra Island and the link to build this architectural wonder. Well, I live in this house every day. Ok. And I had the privilege of building. I don't want to show the world every corner opens the space to this stunning home between the mahogany wood ceilings and pieces of the island jutting with character. It's safe to say videos can't do it justice. So see it for yourself with a tour of the entire island where you'll learn the history that laid the foundation for this unbelievable project. It's a 90 minute tour. We pick you up at a dock, right? We give you a tour of the lake. Ok, then we give you the same tour I gave you here. You can take all the pictures you want. It's going to be a very personal, you know, we're only talking about 10 people at a time. One of the biggest assets of this house is the natural lighting from wall to wall. The windows really make you feel like you're setting sail out on the water. But once you make your way outside out on the deck, it feels like you're at the bow of a cruise ship sailing over lake. May such an unusual Frank Lloyd Wright House. I mean, you look at most of Frank Lloyd houses. The ceilings are low. I mean, don't see it when there's 26 skylights in here. Six fireplaces, every room has a different angle, different view. It, it's his masterpiece. I'm really convinced that that's what it is and not a lot can compare to walking through one of the final houses. Step into another world full of magic wonder and axes. This is kick ax throwing located in Gowanus, which is currently a wizarding theme to pop up. It's family friendly people come out, take out some frustration or maybe they want to celebrate some Lawrence Chavis is the supervisor. He tells us for $34 a person. You can book a 75 minute reservation for anyone eight years or older. Take your right hand, grab the bottom of the ax and give it a thumbs up. You're just going to step forward with your left foot and throw the ax through the wall. There we go, beginner's luck because I learned pretty quick. This does take some skill. There we go. But with some practice. Yeah, there we go. You may end up hitting the bull's eye. If ax throwing is not your thing, you can dive into the art of juan decorating. I've seen a few people try to mimic he who shall not be named Juan. Those ones are not pretty good. But if you're not in the mood for crafts, you can also get excited about the drinks that are sure to transport you to the Wizarding world. This one is a very typical Harry Potter butter beer. This one is for Children. It's non alcoholic. There's also alcoholic drinks for the witches and Wizards. 21 and up, we do have a lounge that is a games with Giant Connect four JJ. We have UNO as well as an array of tasty options to ward off hunger spells. Kick ax is the ultimate hangout for families, friends and those looking to find community.
