Wednesday morning's snow caused transportation problems across Long Island, no matter how people were getting around.

More than an inch of snow brought traffic to a crawl during the morning rush.

The Suffolk County Police Department issued a travel advisory, saying the snowy weather caused an increase in crashes. The department says there were 95 active crashes at 8:30 a.m.

The LIRR had been expecting a normal start on Wednesday morning, but instead nearly every branch switched to a special schedule. Delays were reported on the Babylon, Hempstead and Ronkonkoma Branches. The Port Jefferson Branch had cancellations.

NICE Bus reported widespread delays of approximately 30-45 minutes due to slick road conditions and heavy traffic. Passengers were advised to budget extra time and download the NICE Bus Go-Mobile App for real-time updates.

Travelers at Islip MacArthur Airport were urged to check with their air carrier for information about their flight.
