It's a symbol of hate and murder, and seven black Long Islanders say it showed up in their workplace. Workers at 180 Connect in Farmingdale say their supervisor, Dave Willie, hung a noose in an area of the workplace only managers can get to. The men install cable TV service as a subcontractor for Cablevision, the parent company of News 12 Long Island. The workers also claim at least five representatives of Cablevision, including a vice president saw the noose and did nothing. Now, both 180 Connect and Cablevision are facing a discrimination complaint and a possible federal lawsuit. Officials from 180 Connect released a statement Friday that read, ?180 Connect does not tolerate in any manner any kind of discrimination or harassment in our workplaces. Accordingly, we were shocked by news of the alleged incident in Farmingdale and immediately commenced an investigation. 180 Connect seriously apologizes for any offense caused to any of our employees.?
