Suffolk County police say a woman was fatally struck by a garbage truck on the campus of Farmingdale State College just before noon Tuesday.
The truck also hit a man, according to police, when it was backing up. The man and the driver of the truck were taken to Nassau University Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is not known.
The incident happened in an enclosed parking lot on the first day of the school?s summer session.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim or saying if she was a student at the school. No charges have been filed, police say.
