For the second time in a week, a Long Island resident is accused of falsely reporting an emergency to avoid a traffic ticket.

Marie Toussaint was pulled over near the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Larkfield Road in Commack last week for driving without valid plates.

When the officer went to write up a ticket, authorities say she called 911 and claimed two armed men were in the area.

Police didn't find anything and say they later learned the call came from Toussaint's phone.

On Thursday, Alfreda Chaplin allegedly lied to an officer to avoid a speeding ticket. She told him that her mother was dying. The officer offered to escort her to the hospital.

During the escort, police say she called 911, gave a false name and said she was being beaten by her boyfriend in the hope of getting rid of the officer.  

"Lying to the Suffolk County Police Department does not pay. We will find you and we will arrest you,” says Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini.

Toussaint was given the tickets she was trying to avoid and was also charged with making a false report. She was released on bail this morning.
