The snow and freezing rain that hit Long Island Saturday drifted away, but left behind slippery, icy streets and sidewalks.
Spinouts were seen across the Island Sunday as cars tried to maneuver on the slick roads. On the Sagtikos State Parkway, tire tracks were seen going off the road. On Homesite Court in Huntington, residents said they were extra cautious with the ?very slippery and dangerous? conditions.
A doctor at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip said the hospital treated more than two dozen slip-and-fall injuries in just four hours, including broken bones.
