West Hempstead High School students fear for their safety after a classmate was stabbed during school Monday.
Police say a student got into an argument with an acquaintance in the back parking lot during school hours. According to police, the acquaintance, a 17-year-old male student of Pace High School in Island Park, stabbed the victim three times in his arm and leg. Police say the victim called 911 and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Cops arrested the attacker shortly thereafter, and he faces felony assault charges. School administrators sent a letter home to parents explaining the situation.
