The West Babylon Board of Education held a budget workshop on Tuesday.
The workshop comes as the district is forced to go back to the drawing board after their budget failed last week.
According to the district, they will make some changes to the proposed budget that failed or they will put forth the same budget to a second vote.
The budget received 50.9% of the vote in the May 21 vote.
For approval, the budget needed 60% as voters were asked to pierce the tax cap.
The budget included eliminated teaching positions in part due to the declining enrollment, as well as the elimination of things like field trips and intramurals.
If the budget fails again, the district would need to work with a contingency budget that could see the elimination or reduction of even more programs, including full-day Kindergarten, security , and music programs.
Residents in both districts will vote again on June 18.
