A Baldwin history class learned firsthand what it was like inside a Nazi-run labor camp through the personal stories of Holocaust survivors.

Both Sami Steigmann and Arnold Newfield are among the youngest Holocaust survivors.

Steigmann was just over 1 year old when he was sent to a labor camp.

"I was subjected to medical experiments and the side effects, I feel them today," explained Steigmann.

Newfield says he was born in a concentration camp.

“Students were witnessing my story…It's not my story but our story collectively," he said.

School officials say they're considering holding more presentations like these in the future to enhance the learning experience of students.
