Threats to the Island’s drinking water were the focus of a meeting in Nassau Tuesday night.
The state Assembly Minority Task Force on Water Quality met with residents and water professionals in Mineola.

Lawmakers discussed some of the threats to Long Island's water supply that include the presence of emerging contaminants and the significant cost required to purge them from the drinking water supply.
Meantime, the Nassau Legislature is expected to vote next week on a pair of bills designed to improve water quality and encourage conservation.
