Mostly dry weekend, chances for rain Sunday night into Monday

HEADLINES:
Most of the weekend will be dry before parts of Long Island could get soaked on Monday.
It will be mild and mostly cloudy overnight, with areas of fog and lows in the mid-50s. There's a slight chance for a brief shower but most of the night is dry.
Saturday starts with clouds and fog followed by some breaks of sun. Highs will be near 70 degrees, with warmer spots on the North Shore and cooler spots on the South Shore. A few showers and possibly a thunderstorm could reach us by the evening but most of the rain stays west of Long Island.
Lots of clouds Sunday morning, with a mild and muggy feel. The Long Island Marathon will be dry, with temperatures rising through the 60s, along with a south breeze.
Chances for rain increase Sunday night into Monday, and rain may be heavy at times.
Expect a good chance for rain Monday into Tuesday before our weather improves.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with areas of fog. Lows near 56 degrees. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, with the chance for an isolated shower late in the day. Chance for thunderstorms in the evening. Much of Saturday will be dry. Highs near 72 degrees. South winds 5 to 15 mph. Cloudy at night, with the chance for a few showers. Lows near 57 degrees.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance for showers in the afternoon and evening, into Sunday night. Highs near 70 degrees. Lows near 56 degrees.
MONDAY: Cloudy, with rain showers likely. Rain may be heavy at times. Highs near 64 degrees. Cloudy, with showers likely at night, lows near 54 degrees.
TUESDAY: Cloudy and breezy, with a good chance for rain. Highs near 65 degrees. Lows near 56 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, with showers ending. Partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs near 69 degrees. Lows near 55 degrees.
