Volunteers gathered at Uncle Guiseppe's Marketplace in Smithtown on Saturday to bundle up holiday cheer for veterans in need on Long Island.
The volunteers were packing up meals that will be delivered to the veterans.
It's all organized by Veterans For A More Responsive Government. The group brings meals to veterans in need for various holidays and festive events  -- like wings and heroes on Super Bowl Sunday.
“The most important thing is to make these homeless veterans feel like they're not forgotten,” says Robert Cornicelli, of the veterans group. “The minute we forget them is the minute they lose hope and their recovery suffers.”
Uncle Guiseppe's donated half of the food and the rest was made possible through donations.
