Neighbors and NYPD officers gathered for a candlelight vigil on College Avenue in the Bronx on Thursday to honor the lives of two babies killed three years ago.

Police say twin baby boys were found dead in a dumpster behind the apartment building at 1460 College Ave. on Nov. 9, 2020. The deaths were later deemed a homicide by police.

"Those two babies deserve better, the way they were discovered just to imagine that short life that they had," said Bronx Homicide Squad commanding officer Hector Fuentes.

Officials say the boys died after suffering blunt force trauma.

Police say the deaths are still under investigation.
