VIDEO: Man shoots jewelry store employee in Sunset Park

Police say a man attempting to rob a Sunset Park jewelry store Saturday shot an employee.
The suspect busted into the A&M jewelry store on Fifth Avenue around 2 p.m. and demanded diamonds, according to police. Police say the suspect began shooting at a 24-year-old employee, hitting them in the torso.
The employee was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was last seen heading toward 49th Street on Fifth Avenue.
The store is currently closed, and the owner says he does not know when they are going to reopen. When they do, he plans on installing double doors so customers will need to be buzzed in twice before they are allowed inside.
