Police say thieves made off with nearly $300,000 in cash and jewelry during a burglary in Belle Terre nearly six months ago.
Peter Colucci's wife was leaving for work early in the morning when she was confronted by men wearing all black.
"She was at the foot of the bed, she woke me up and said 'Pete, we have a problem,'" Colucci recalls. "So I opened my eyes and see a guy with a gun to her head and I hear a guy next to me say, 'Wake up, this is a hit.'"
The robbers demanded a million dollars in cash. Colucci says they knew he flips houses and that he kept large sums of money in his home.
They got away with about $80,000 in cash and $200,000 in jewelry, including a presidential platinum masterpiece Rolex watch, a 3-carat diamond cross and a second safe.
Colucci says he was likely targeted by someone he knows.
On top of the Suffolk County Police Department's $3,000 cash reward, Colucci is putting up another $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction, plus another $25,000 to get his belongings returned.
He says an arrest would give him and his wife closure.
"It was somebody who knew us, knew a lot about us and took advantage of it," he says.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
