The Van Courtland Pool reopened on Wednesday afternoon one week after it’s Fourth of July weekend closure.

According to park officials, the pool was temporarily closed due to a mechanical issue.

Many Bronx residents told News 12 that the nearest pool to this neighborhood was more than 30 minutes away. Some say, it was hard to keep cool over the holiday weekend.

News 12’s Brittany Cadet spoke with pool-goers on a hot Saturday.
