Fantastic Friday on Long Island, spotty weekend showers

A tractor-trailer went up in flames in Suffolk County on Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. near 1440 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge.

Firefighters from the Hauppauge Fire Department responded to the alarm and encountered a fully-involved vehicle fire upon arrival.

Fire officials say the blaze started in the truck cab and spread while the driver was traveling near the old TGI Fridays.

Crews worked quickly to apply water and bring the fire under control.

All occupants of the truck made it out safely and there were no reported injuries.
