Tropical depression Danny rolled through Long Island Saturday, sparing most of the area except for the eastern part, which experienced some flooding and thunderstorms.
Richie Mckee, of East Hampton, says Danny was no match to Hurricane Bill, which forced officials to ban swimming at most Long Island beaches last weekend.
According to Bruce Bates, of the East Hampton Emergency Preparedness, Danny didn't present any challenges beyond rough surf, which attracted surfers in Montauk.
"I'm not the best surfer, but I'm going to try," says Noah Mill, who came out to take advantage of the 6-foot waves.
