Walk the charming cobblestone path over a bridge to Eagle’s Nest, which was once the summer home of William K. Vanderbilt - one of the richest men in the world.
It remains as it was when he lived there. Stop by the courtyard. Take a picture in the archway that has become Instagram famous, and take in the view! Look up at the bell-tower, wander through the garden, and make a wish!
Once you go inside, you can see the animal and marine habitat dioramas that Mr. Vanderbilt created.
See the artifacts that Mr. Vanderbilt collected from his travels around the world.
Then walk the path to the Hall of Fishes Marine Museum. It showcases marine life from Mr. Vanderbilt's countless sea expeditions.
And the planetarium just reopened. It’s one of the finest and most advanced in the country. Watch children’s programming on the 60-foot dome.
They also host laser rock shows. And through their star projectors learn about the nighttime sky, so you can travel through the universe and feel like you are worlds away.
