Multiple transformer fires in New Rochelle knocked out power to a large portion of the city’s East End.

One transformer fire happened in the vicinity of Monroe Street and Stephenson Boulevard shortly after 2 p.m.

New Rochelle police have also blocked the street to traffic as Con Edison crews work to restore power.

A timeline for full restoration of power to the impacted area was not immediately clear as of Saturday evening.
