HEADLINES:
- Heavy rain with storms is ending as storms track offshore. Parts of Long Island got 2 to 4 inches of much needed rainfall on Monday.
- More scattered showers and storms are in the forecast, especially Tuesday night to Wednesday morning and possibly again late-day Wednesday.
- Humidity is on the rise with hot temperatures into the weekend.
- Tough week, but Thursday will be the pick of the week, with sunshine and slightly lower humidity than the rest of the week.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy with the chance of a spot shower. Lows near 72 degrees with south winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunrise: 5:47 a.m.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny with the chance of showers early in the morning and then again Tuesday night. Highs near 83 degrees with south winds 10 to 15 mph. Lows near 72 degrees. Sunset: 8:10 p.m.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, warm and humid. Chance for scattered showers and storms. Highs near 84 degrees. Lows near 72 degrees.
