The track of Tropical Storm Debby continues to be to our west and is moving faster. The impacts will still include heavy rain, gusty winds and some coastal impacts.
The change in track will shrink the window of bad weather. The worst of the storm impacts will be Friday evening.
The storm will pass Long Island during the day on Friday. Friday morning will be mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks and a spotty shower or two. Winds will increase and gust 20 to 30 mph.
High tides along the South Shore occur late Friday morning into Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. At this point will we have a chance of minor coastal flooding and beach erosion.
Friday evening between 5 p.m. and midnight, the threat for strong to severe thunderstorms, which includes strong damaging winds and a chance for weak tornado.
The threat of severe weather decreases rapidly early Saturday morning.
Most of the weekend now looks nice, with sunshine and highs in the 80s.
