Hundreds of children in Roosevelt will have presents under the tree this year, thanks to a toy giveaway.
The event was held Friday night at the “I support Roosevelt Youth Center.” The event started 43 years ago when Martin Luther King, Sr. preached at a community church.
“We want to make sure that every family has Christmas toys for the children. To let them know they are loved, that they are appreciated, that they are celebrated,” said Pastor Arthur Mackey, who organized the event.
Parents also took home clothing, including winter coats and boots.
