Over 200 Town of Huntington employees are taking to the roads to keep residents safe amid the stormy weekend weather.
Officials say trucks are gassed up and loaded with salt and sand. Highway Superintendent Andre Sorrentino urges drivers to travel slowly if the roads become slick.
"Just because you have four-wheel drive doesn't mean you can go fast. We are not used to driving right now we haven't had snow in over a year and a half. Everybody forgets how dangerous it can be so stay off the road if you can and let us do our jobs,” he said.
The town also has more than 150 outdoor contractors ready to help, according to officials.
