Huntington Town residents will need to register their cars online to enter town beaches this summer.
The town says it will patrol beach parking lots with a license plate scanner to see who has a pass and who does not.
The system will be used at every town beach, except for Gold Star Battalion.
Previously, residents would have to put a pass on their car to enter the beach.
