The Town of Hempstead is taking steps to secure its shoreline as Henri gets set to take aim.
Town workers are securing boats at Lido Beach with high tides and flooding expected on the South Shore.
Crews are gassing up the fleet, and tree cutting workers are making sure machinery is ready.
"Gas up your car, get some batteries just in case, get some ice and throw it in the freezer in case you lose power. You know, be prepared," says Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin.
Clavin also says to safeguard your boats and make sure to secure any outdoor furniture at home.
