Long Island and the world will pause on Friday to mark the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks - although the Long Island's largest 9/11 memorial service will look different than in years past.
The Town of Hempstead is moving forward with its beachside memorial service in Point Lookout.
Town officials say this year's ceremony will be held in a safe, socially distant manner.
There will be there as the sunrise ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
