Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone gave his Wednesday COVID-19 update from a new venue Wednesday in celebration of phase 3 on Long Island.
Briefing Notes:
- Bellone held his update at The Whales Tale in Northport to celebrate the beginning of phase 3. 'Today is a huge step forward.'
- Phase 3 includes indoor dining, personal care services, gatherings of up to 25 people.
- Indoor dining capacity limit is at 50%. Tables separated by 6 feet, face coverings, except when you're seated.
- 50% capacity for personal care as well - employees must wear coverings at all times. Any services that require removal of covering (i.e. facials) are prohibited.
- On phase 4 changes as announced by Gov. Cuomo -- Bellone says he thinks malls, gyms can open with limited capacity. Says state is willing to reevaluate moving forward.
- Bellone agrees with Cuomo's mandate for a two-week quarantine for people coming from states with higher COVID-19 numbers.
- Drive-in movie series at Smith Point County Park will keep moving forward - reservations open for "E.T." on Wednesday, July 1. Also opening for "Willy Wonka" and "The Addams Family." More info HERE.

- 41,101 total coronavirus cases - additional 45 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours.
- Up to 18,327 positive antibody tests. 
- Decrease in hospitalizations by one to 88. Decrease in ICU patients by two to 26.
- Death toll rises by two to 1,972 in total.
