North Hempstead Town is releasing quails into 200 acres of Hempstead Harbor Woods in Port Washington to eradicate ticks.
The birds were hatched and raised to naturally reduce the number of ticks without using chemical pesticides.
It's the third year that the Town of North Hempstead is using quails to fight off the disease-carrying insects.
