Before you head to the grocery store to stock up on food for the big game, you should have a "game plan" for what's costing more and what's dropping in price.

Dr. Michael Swanson, chief agricultural economist at Wells Fargo, says, "We are looking at the cost of a Haas avocado versus a year ago from this year. And then we are looking at chicken wings, they are up about 7% so those aren't those are no small numbers those aren't just rounding errors."

But Swanson says there are some deals to score, that may have you switching up the menu. Swanson says, "We are seeing frozen pizza down 4% we are seeing what else, we have shrimp down 4 plus percent."

Another way to really save comes down to the style of drinks you buy. Swanson says you can save $5, $6, and even $10 by buying 2-liter bottles of soda rather than cans.
