Long Islanders took advantage of the summer sun and scorching temperatures Tuesday.
Thunderbolt 12 stopped by Oyster Bay where people were taking a dip in the pool.
In Hempstead, town officials extended town pool hours to 8 p.m. and town beaches to 7 p.m.
Of course, not everyone had the day off to enjoy the heat. If a mask must be worn outside in warm temperatures for an extended period of time, doctors advise to bring multiple masks -- it becomes difficult to breathe when sweating into a mask.
