Another person has tested positive for West Nile virus in Suffolk County.

Health officials say a resident in the Town of Smithtown developed symptoms linked to the mosquito-borne virus last month.

That person is now recovering at a rehabilitation facility.

The patient is the third human case of West Nile in the county this season.

In September, officials reported two cases in the Town of Islip.
