Food prices don't seem to be dropping any time soon, so using coupons and apps can help.
However, Consumer Reporter Janice Lieberman shows us how making some changes in what you buy can make a huge difference.
Experts say finding healthy and less expensive alternatives is the key.
For fish, farm-raised salmon instead of wild-caught salmon. For beef, try pork tenderloin instead of beef tenderloin.
If you want to save even more, use black beans as a meat replacement.
For dessert, try Nick’s Ice Cream instead of Häagen-Dazs.
As always, make a list and stick to it. Make menu plans using similar ingredients and download apps that give you cash back.
