News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says expect another sunny day with high temperatures in the mid-80s for Friday. Some areas may be a bit warmer, but near the South Shore temperatures will hang near the lower 80s.
Wildfire smoke from fires burning in western Canada will move through later this evening. This will have little to no impact on air quality but will give the sky a milky appearance.
Clouds roll in on Saturday with periods of sunshine and it will remain a bit muggy and warm. Showers are expected in the evening and overnight with a possible isolated thunderstorm. On-and-off light to moderate rain is expected on Sunday with a period of isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will be near 80 degrees.
Meanwhile, in the tropics, we're tracking Hurricane Ernesto. The storm will strengthen as it approaches Bermuda but steer clear of Long Island and the rest of the United States. This storm will bring rough surf and rip currents to our beaches starting late Saturday and will impact the beaches the remainder of the weekend.
