The mother of a teenage shooting victim is speaking out about violence in Wyandanch after her son became the second person killed in the neighborhood in three days.
Police say Jaquan Jones, 18, was shot in the head Saturday just before midnight as he left his friend?s home on North 18th Street. Jones died at the scene, but none of his friends were seriously injured.
Cops say they don't know who shot Jones or what prompted the shooting. They are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
Jones? mother Patricia also begs any witnesses to come forward so the killer will be off the street, ?Because when you leave them on, you're leaving them on to kill again and next it could be home ? your home.?
Early Saturday, 48-year-old Livingston Kirton was killed when two armed robbers burst into his home and shot him during a Fourth of July party. Two women were injured.
