Gordon Heights woman charged with DWI while driving with 2 children in car Friday morning in Central Islip

Swaneka Danzler, 35, was pulled over at about 11 a.m. after police were notified that her car was swerving on the road, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

A Gordon Heights woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with two children in the car Friday morning.

Swaneka Danzler, 35, was pulled over at about 11 a.m. after police were notified that her car was swerving on the road, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Third Precinct patrol officers pulled her over on Myrtle Avenue in Central Islip and determined she was driving while intoxicated with a 3-year-old boy and infant girl in the back seat of the car.

The children were uninjured and released to a family member.

Danzler was charged with two counts of aggravated DWI with a child passenger less than 15 years old, one count of DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

She is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
