A Suffolk County legislative committee today approved a $10 million settlement for Martin Tankleff.

Tankleff served 17 years in prison for the 1988 murders of his parents Arlene and Seymour Tankleff in their Belle Terre home.

Tankleff’s conviction was overturned in 2007. He had sued the county for nearly $35 million.
