Swimming advisory issued at LI beaches due to flash floods
Swimming is off limits at more than a dozen beaches because of Saturday's flash floods.
Health officials have issued an advisory against swimming at 13 North Shore beaches because of possible elevated bacteria levels in the water due to storm runoff.
The flooding also created a hassle for Long Island drivers. Roads were flooded at the intersection of North Country Road and Main Street in Stony Brook, making it difficult for cars to drive through.
