The Town of Huntington held an event Wednesday to help one of its employees find an organ donor.
Jonas Wagner is in need of a transplant after suffering kidney failure in January.
A kidney donation advocacy group called "Renewal" hosted a swabbing event to find a potential match for Wagner.
"It's really important to get quality of life back for me because right now between dialysis, it's really hard for me to help support the town in my role here," Wagner says.
News 12 is told the living kidney donation will be performed laparoscopically as compared to an open approach. It can make the recovery faster and less painful for the donor.
