Suffolk residents got a scare this afternoon after a suspicious device was found, but reports indicate that it was a false alarm.
Police say a jogger found a PVC pipe device on Sycamore Drive in Stony Brook.
Emergency crews and the arson squad were called to the scene.
Newsday reports that the device was just a piece of pipe and has been destroyed.
