Police say they will be stepping up patrols after a recent rash of robberies targeting oil deliverymen on Long Island.
According to police, there have been four robberies of home heating oil trucks in Nassau County in the last five weeks.
The most recent happened Monday morning at 8 a.m. on Margaret Drive in Roosevelt. The others happened in Baldwin and Hempstead.
News 12 Long Island's Eileen Lehpamer spoke exclusively with one of the four victims who said he is scared and shaken, and wants the suspects caught. The man says he was tackled to the ground by three men who put a gun to his neck. Police say a gun was displayed in two of the four cases.
Authorities say the majority of the robbery victims did not carry company cash on them, but the thieves were able to get away with their personal money.
A neighbor in Roosevelt shared a surveillance video with News 12 Long Island, which shows a man walking toward a parked oil truck and then running away three minutes later. Police have confirmed that the person in the video is a suspect.
A composite sketch of one of the men police say is responsible for the robberies has been released. Anyone with information about the robberies is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
