Suffolk SPCA: Abused dog dies from injuries; suspect sought

The Suffolk SPCA is looking for the person responsible for abusing a dog who later died from his injuries.
According to the SPCA, a male pit bull mix was brought to the Smithtown Animal Shelter in November.
News 12 has been told the dog, named Meatloaf by the staff, was found on Croft Lane with extensive injuries. The injuries included what appeared to be chemical burns and infected wounds.
The Suffolk SPCA is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
